Darkmoon Faire Island Overview
82
Where is Darkmoon Island?
If you are Alliance you can go to Elwynn Forest to where the old location use to be and there is a portal to enter that takes you to the Island. Once there you will notice arrows pointing you in the direction of where to go.
If you are Horde you can go to Mulgore and enter the portal there. Keep in mind these portals only appear during the time the Darkmoon Fair is actually active. The portals should keep active for a week. I made the mistake of not knowing how to leave the Island so not thinking I ran back to the portal that dropped me in, when I got there, I had no way out. I had to go back to buy the simple flour needed for a quest later. Again not thinking I used my heartstone which put me really far away. So I ended up having to take boats and flight paths to get back to Stormwind.
I eventually discovered there are portals on the Island you can use to leave, but they are in a dock location.
Does The Island Have Resources?
Some people may be wondering if this Island is a paradise for miners, skinners or herbalist. Unfortunately there is no nodes of any kind, other then fishing "shipwrecked debris". You can pickup a quest though targeted to your profession and earn 5 points towards your skillup. Anyone who fishes can also fish, there is a chance a Sea Pony companion could drop. This sea pony can only be fished on Darkmoon Island when the fair is active.
Helpful Tips:
The daily quest do not give you leveling experience. The dailies give you Darkmoon Prize Tickets, a daily quest is blue colored. So you should be able to do those everyday. Most of the quest in yellow will give you experience and other rewards.
Certain quest will require you to leave the Island to get items you need, that you cannot get from the island. So before going to the Island you can pick these items up. Just to save some time.
These are the quest that require you to have items that you can't get on Darkmoon Island.

Whack-A-Gnoll
You get a hammer to whack some gnolls! You need to whack 30. You will notice 3 diffrent things that could pop up. Regular Gnoll, Hoggers and babies! Do not hit the babies are they will knock you and stun you. The regular gnolls earn 1 point and the hoggers count as 3.

This one is fun you get shot from a cannon, you need to aim for the floating target in the water to earn tickets.

Target: Turtle
In this you have to land three rings on the Darkmoon Turtle.
Other Activities
Fishing
You can fish in the waters of the Darkmoon Faire which is good if you want to try and get the Sea Pony that can only be fished up on Darkmoon Island. If you have "find fish" you should use it to look for shipwrecked debris to fish up.
Petting Zoo
Well I am not going to list all of the animals but some look interesting like the Shingo and they have a lion family.
Pony And Ram Rides
You get an achievement for riding a pony so you should visit the ponies and rams just for that
reason.
Well I hope this hub has helped to educate fellow WoW players about Darkmoon Island. There are various vendors on the Island so be sure to see what they sell.

Will have to explore. I've not been on WoW for over a month due to too much work, but have been thinking to sneak some time on there again soon.
The Darkmoon Faire is waaaaaaay improved compared to the last profession grind. At least here they have the courtesy to mask it a little. Plus, the activities are real fun, my favourite being Whack-a-Gnoll!
Brilliantly detailed Hub, I can't wait to see more WoW Hubs! Voted Up, Useful and Interesting ^^

I play WoW way too much. In fact I am playing right now! Thanks. I shall have to return to the Faire and try out some of the quests.
